So for my research question I am thinking about the effect of car theft in California. I want to show the cause and effect of car theft on the average Californian. Car theft in California, is the highest in the nation, with four of the top ten cities in the nation for car theft. Car theft is defined as-Theft of an unattended vehicle without key(s)
I am passionate about this topic because may of this year I had my car stolen. It really made the problem hit to close to home. Although I got my car back, I still felt violated, and made me want to research and combat the problem. I also want to look at the other side of the situation, to look into the side of the thiefs, see their motivations, and into their lives.
So if you have any suggestions on how I can narrow down my research question into a precious one please let me know. Thanks

I had my Honda Civic stolen right out of my driveway about a year and a half ago! I totally can relate because I had my car for only 3 months before it got stolen. The police found it but it had been stripped of its parts so it was basically totaled. I'm curious as to how you are going to narrow your topic down and how you are planning on doing your engagement hours?
Well eddie, i see why you feel so strongly about your topic. once you experience it... it makes you view it with a different set of eyes almost, right.
Although i have not had my car stolen, in high school someone thought it would be a good idea to slash all 4 tires on my 94 mustang gt. i was devestated! so in a way i know what its like to feel pain about your car. i do however agree with melina, how will you do you engagement hours?
dude, hopefully you can do something about this. about a year ago my old car got broken into in my sisters driveway and they stole everything inside. i would be livid if someone took my car as well. hope to hear some good research that you find about why people do the things they do...
it sucks.
Eddie this is a great topic. Ive been caught in the middle of a few thefts in my life. My brothers truck was broken into and his radio was stolen, and they stole his wheels and tires and left it on cinder blocks. Research more on this topic, and i'm sure you will have a very detailed research paper. Good luck!
awesome topic to research but you have to take in to consideration the type and model of a car. I know for a fact Honda Civics are the most stolen cars in America....and i believe you should spend your engagement hours at a local police station going over how much stolen cars have been reported within the last 5 years or so...
Well I think I'm going to write about the possible causes for this identity crisis and if kids even know whats happening to them. Hopefully it turns out well.
But I am feeling you on this subject; I've never had a car stolen but I had to replac like 5 windows (on different cars.. like 3) but it's a total pain. I had good connections with mechanics and used parts dealers so it was easy for me but for others, it 's hard to imagine the agony.
I think random surveys on campus might help you to show how widespread the problem is and even to help you gain some engagement hours. Good Luck.
